Request or claim shift coverage

You do not need to know Discord commands. Use the buttons your workplace has posted, follow the short prompts, and wait for a manager before treating coverage as final.

Staff guide · Mobile friendly

The short version

  1. Request staff access. Use Start / Edit Request, enter your real name, and choose the location and positions you actually work.
  2. Request coverage. Open your location's request channel and select Request Shift Coverage, or use the workplace request webpage.
  3. Claim an opening. Select Claim Shift on an open shift, or use the claim webpage and enter your real name.
  4. Wait for approval. A request or claim is not final until a manager approves it and your workplace schedule is updated.

Join and get verified

  1. Open the one-use invite sent by your workplace.
  2. In the onboarding channel, select Start / Edit Request.
  3. Choose your primary location and qualified position or positions.
  4. Enter your real first and last name, then submit once.
  5. Stop and wait for a Manager. Staff channels stay locked until the Manager approves your request.
  6. Return to the same channel and select Check My Status instead of submitting again.
Status answers are private. If you notice a mistake while the request is waiting, select Start / Edit Request and submit the corrected information. The pending request is replaced rather than duplicated. Direct messages are optional.

Request coverage for your shift

  1. Select Request Shift Coverage in your request channel.
  2. Choose the position, date, and shift time when those choices appear.
  3. Confirm the new post in the open-shifts channel.

On the public request webpage, enter your real name and make the same choices. The TV board and public pages abbreviate employee names.

Important: You remain responsible for your shift until a manager approves the change and your employer's official schedule agrees.

Claim an open shift

  1. Open your location's open-shifts channel or claim webpage.
  2. Check the date, time, position, and any employer-offered bonus.
  3. Select Claim Shift. On the webpage, enter your real name.
  4. Wait for a manager to approve or deny the claim.

If position-specific coverage is used, you must have that position from onboarding. Any displayed bonus is paid and confirmed by your employer, not by the bot.

Use it on your phone (optional)

If you have a Discord account, you can sign in at /app on your phone and see everything for your location in one place: open shifts you can claim, the requests you have posted, and your onboarding status.

  1. Open /app in your phone browser and choose Continue with Discord.
  2. Pick your workplace, then your location. You will land on Staff Home.
  3. Claim a shift or post a request straight from that page. Claims still go to a manager for approval, exactly as they do in Discord.
  4. Add it to your home screen if you want it to open like an app.

This is optional. The request and claim links your workplace has posted still work without any login, and nothing about them has changed. Use whichever is easier for you.

Understand the status

OpenThe shift is available to claim.
PendingA claim is waiting for manager review.
CoveredA manager approved the coverage.
ClosedThe opening is no longer available.

If you claimed through Discord and the claim is still pending, selecting the pending button again can cancel your claim. Ask a manager for help with a web guest claim.

Get help safely

If you are not sure what to do next, select Show My Next Step in the Help Center panel. Its answer is private and based on your current workplace access. Ask a manager about onboarding approval, shift decisions, position access, or your official schedule. For a bot problem, tell a manager; managers can use Open Support Ticket in the private Qiza support channel. They can use Suggest an Improvement for an idea rather than a problem.

Never submit a password, login code, payment-card number, medical information, or private employee record to the bot or support form.
